I agree. I almost got 20 pounds in the hopper. The last pound or so would have had to sit on the flat part of the slide or maybe if I stirred down to settle what I put in, that last bit in the bag would fit in. Maybe I could have leveled the pellets off more or just fill it up where the cover is...
I saw that video before I bought, too. They gave a slight edge to WSF. Learning about pellet smoke tube to punch up smoke if needed was key. My WSF has a smoke boost setting that I haven't played with yet.
I saw another video with the same guy standing next to a smaller version. Glad I went...
I like your grill pan and temperature ideas and will try them both next weekend. I bet I get more smoke flavor moving the temperature up like you do. Thank you for that.
Murph
I think they will all be fine for you, actually.
My new Weber SmokeFire impresses me after only two roast sessions in 50° F New England spring weather. For you, you might like the shiny enamel paint that's nice and thick. You will still nick it - I did when I installed the shelves - but you...
Yesterday's first cook on my new WSF - Frozen Pizza... because that's all I felt like doing on that spotty-showers day after breaking it in. :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
The thing holds temperature like you read about. Faint smoke flavor even using mesquite. Maybe I should give up...
I figure there's at least a half-dozen OCD freaks in here that just went looking up what "kerning" meant. Go ahead... admit it... I know you're you're in here... :emoji_laughing: :emoji_laughing: :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Dude, please... don't even... I've been looking at the oh-so-necessary vacuum sealer thing.
Does it ever end?
Hey, what's my first move with this b__ch?
Somebody say, "Murph, your first cook MUST be pulled pork. Then you can vac pack it and make sammies on demand!"
Ugh.
Good advice! Thanks!
You know, there's ALWAYS going to be a bigger better thing. It's time to buy when you're ready to buy and I was ready.
I'm a consummate reseacher... I was looking for a toaster once. It had to have long slots for my favorite Scala bread and thick enough for a bagel. Hard...
Here's another one I can't stand from my stint in the corporate world: people who end their sentences on an upswing.
Every sentence sounds like a question. Hard to describe in a forum but it might go something like, "I was looking at the chart that you sent me? And I had some questions for...
Clean freaks. Good GRIEF! :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I could never understand that.
Knives in water. Meh. As long as you don't get cut and even then... we can buff that out...
Sorry, DRK!
What things from your job bug you in real life? Here's what I mean...
I just bought a Weber SmokeFire and mentioned it on SMF. Someone said I should hit up or follow @chopsaw for advice on the thing because he has one and is gracious in giving out help and advice on the unit.
So I did the...
That's what I was thinking... there must be SOME use for this fat... lard? Nah... that pork, right?
Buy a meat grinder, you say? Did I mention I just bought a Weber SF EX6 and the Mighty, Mighty Bosch 800 dishwasher?
You guys are going to clean me out; aren't you?
