    Weber kettle refurb.

I saved a 96. My advice is to get Ajax or dawn dish soap, some sponges, a good hose nozzle and a razor scraper. Give it a good spray down and then scrub with soap then spray again and let dry and then scrape off the grease inside the lid with the razor scraper. I used half a bottle of degreaser...

    Does freezing have an impact?

aldi is having ribs on sale again next week. We want to make ribs in late June for some friends that are moving near us. I’m wondering if I should stock up or if I should just hope there’s a deal on fresh when the date is here?

Advice on a triangle shaped grill grate

You need to find an expanded metal sheet and likely cut/fabricate one. Stainless is ideal just don't get galvanized due to health safety reasons. I'm not sure if the link below is actually safe for food, it's just a good example of what type of thing you need, but in the reviews a few people are...

Royal Oak on sale at Menards 18lbs $4.99

This helps lol. Good to know it’s insanely close in cost though. I’d go to Lowe’s but Menards is 5 min away so gas costs makes Menards cheaper lol

Royal Oak Ridge on Sale at Lowes

Kbb used to be good now it’s overpriced trash since they changed the formula. Kbb is not the same as I grew up with. I’m glad I switched

Looking for recommendations for entry level smoker

My vote is WSM 18.5” after finally getting one. I started on an ECB for $35 after brinkmann folded and while I got to tend to it more it also was miserable. Don’t get the 22.5” unless you really bbq a ton. A lot of ppl here say get the 22.5 then you’ll also read a ton on ppl who don’t use it...

    Mes quit during the night.

I've eaten pizza plenty of times the next day without issue as well, but after getting food poisoning once, its enough to make you realize thigns aren't worth the risk. Why not just refrigerate the pizza after 2 hours? If it saves a day of feeling like death it's worth it.

    Mes quit during the night.

This! I got food poisoning one from pizza of all things at a music festival, you know one of 2 food items you should always be safe to get. Feeling like you're getting hit with a sledgehammer in your gut for 24 hours is enough to realize, food safety is nothing to mess around with.

How long does a person expect a grill to last?

New grills are trash. Growing up in the 90s, Char-Broil was on par with Weber for quality. Having owned 2 Char-Broils I can tell you they’re built for 3-5 year use and no part support.

Step one throw it, step 2 stop buying MES. I read these stories way too often

    ECB hinged grate on WSM?

Has anyone tried or does anyone know if the ECB hinged grate fits the WSM? Im curious if that grate + the gateway hanging rack would let me copy PBC hanging but still have useable space for part of the grate

    Gotta Buy A New One...

For simplicity sake the WSM will work without much effort. You wanting an offset but then something that holds heat for a long time is contradictory to an offset. Offset usually requires more effort. That said there should be plenty in your price range since you're talking mods. If you want...

    Newbie from MO

Welcome. The WSM is fantastic! I had an ECB i tried to learn on before getting the WSM this last year, and after making really good ribs on my first try I can say that getting the WSM was the right choice. As a new owner, be prepared for the temps to be all over the place on the first smoke...

Which hardware is safe in a smoker build

Well i went with SS. Someone at ACE ended up grabbing everything for me. I did get some stuff at Menards but honestly for anyone copying me just go to ace. It's 1000x easier to find everything and you'll actually find everything. I couldn't find fender washers to save my life at menards which...

Kingsford Briquettes vs. Royal Oak Ridge Briquettes: Burn Temperature, Time, and Ash Comparison

I realize this is a VERY old thread that won't die but I have to say this helped me a ton with finding Embers last fall which i used in my first smoke. I was shocked i still had so much fuel left at the end of the smoke. When I used kingsford in the past it never lasted. I'm never going back.
