I have an MES 40 and have had it for roughly 4-5yrs and no problems, not even with the electrical side of it, It is stored in the garage when not in use.
Try a sauce pan with some water and boil onions, garlic and what ever else comes to mind in the kitchen, start with onions and garlic and go by the smell or steam in the kitchen, I have tried that and it works for flavor in the water pan
I still have my 40in. that I bought about 4-5 yrs, ago, can't remember but have had no problems with it.Temp or anything else, knock on wood. I keep it inside. I use it when I have enough meat to fill all 4 racks.
I remember when I made my first BBB, I had put it on top of the stove and went down in the basement when I had a loud noise, I ran upstairs and there was my black lab enjoying his first BBB, From then on I put the meat in the oven and out of the dog's temptation. It stinks when things like that...
Hey daddyzaring, your Pitmaster Deluxe is identicle to mine, it was my very first smoker, I used the h_ll out of mine,enjoy it. I plan on redoing mine also, just waiting for the weather to cooperate also.
