    Thanks for the speedy reply. The alarm does not go off I packed it up and sending it back to Amazon. I went for a few dollars more and ordered the 733. BTW is there a spot for off-topic discussions? Thanks again Joe

    I found this old SS grate in my garage. I placed it over the supplied chip pan and will place my cast iron frying pan on it. I do have to sacrifice one grate and move the water tray up as you can see. Thanks Joe

    I actually have two large cast iron pans, but i feel my smoker deserves its own dedicated one. I just orders a 5 inch from Amazon for $14.

    Thank you gentlemen the can seems like a good idea did you drill some holes in the can or just left it as is with the top open? also will go with two chunks as suggested
