I must be extremely lucky with my MES30. Unit 5 - 6 years old maybe more and still no issues with it. Still going strong. Gets used several times a year.
Now my MES40 was a bum unit right from the start. Had to watch it closely. Heater element would turn on and never turn off. Found out the...
Yep. My place of employment decided to move to Traverse City. I didn't want to relocate. Been with them 25 years. Put my skills to work and found a better place right away. Only drawback is it's a midnight shift.
Doing some preparation for the night smoke. Not to bad out. Temp not to cold out. Love Michigan weather in my area.
No snow. Just rain for the weekend.
Picked up this baby from Huntspoint during the week. Comes in at 13.89lbs. Really nice marbling thru the meat.
Rub was a favorite store bought that I came across. Bourbon and Brown sugar. Has good flavor to it. Pellets are a blend of maple/apple. This will be a long slow cook for this one...
What has it come to. Needing a meat thermometer to successfully cook a steak?
There are two ways. Moo or burnt done. If one doesn't like moo. Then burnt it is.
Just kidding. Looks good from here.
Out of all the years of cooking. I've never gotten sick from the food I've done. Thank god. Keeping things clean is a must in food prep and cooking. But that doesn't mean if something falls on the floor I won't eat it. Wipe it off and good to go.
Here's the back of mine. Since there was no access port on my 40 for probe replacement that came with the unit. I cut one out and made one. Used the AC cord already on the unit for the element. Redid all the wiring. That was something as I never pulled the back off. The foam they use is like...
Molson XXX. Just one of the great things Canada gives us. Next - Chocolate. 3rd - Coke-a-cola. Damn good stuff. But as I can see. Now a great chili. That looks really good. Like for sure. Damn you Canadians. :emoji_laughing:
Looks really good. Question. With all of the spices. Could you taste the flavor of the Sumac? Did it have a tartness to it? I've used it before in some of my dishes. Like/Point.
Damn good looking food there. Can I get a couple taco's to go and a small bowl of the Verde with cilantro lime rice & beans. I want to be in a food coma to. Like/Point
Stick burner all the way. I love using mine when I got time to sit by it and tend to the firebox when needed. Mine does some great tasty food. But I also love my Mes30 and 40 for their qualities that they offer. Sitting next to a stick burner smelling/drooling the fine smells coming from it...
Them Fatties look awesome. The Philly one looks like its just oozing with cheese. All 3 of them look terrific. Like for sure. If I could give a point for each one. You'd get them.
