Torched some paint myself once (ECB) and had a similarly unimpressed wife. Mine became a safety lesson.
There is a lot here and you are tied up to Capt so that will help your results for sure.

Roger that, Trent. Just glad I found info and folks on the SMF to learn how to do it on my own. (Leigh's in Kevil and Starnes in Paducah are the specific spots I grew up on. My cousins like a place in La Center but I can't remember what the name is.)
