    Spatchcock Chicken

Yeah! That works really well on a Weber. Put "chicken tabaka" into youtube.

Are budget smokers any good ?

Many offset people here have some kind of heat deflector plate, to help spread the heat evenly across the cooking chamber. I made one, but I can't run it and the charcoal tray at the same time. Don't be surprised if the paint becomes scorched. Can you store it out of the sun and rain? Consider...

Are budget smokers any good ?

Welcome to the board! Yes you can do a lot with that basic configuration. Do you have a tray for charcoal in the cooking chamber? If so, it can serve as a really big grill if you have some big event. I'm guessing it has grates for the firebox, so you could run that alone like a little Hibachi...

    Hello from Gilbert Arizona

Man I think I've been in Gilbert back around 1979 or so. Or, maybe that was around Globe. The roads were red.

Chainsaw chasers, that's all we stick burners are. We swing axes and hammers just to relax.

How I obtained my free smoker

A few years ago, Linda's grandson was just getting big enough to ride one of those "Big Wheel" plastic tricycles. Someone left one on the curb with a For Free sign, so I grabbed it. We actually put some miles on it.I escorted him to parks, etc. We would also run laps around the neighborhood...

How I obtained my free smoker

Now you need to close the circle. Smoke some leg quarters or thighs, and go back to the place that left the smoker sitting out. My Weber 22 was a $10 rescue from a junk pile in my neighbor's yard, else it would have gone into the dumpster as part of the property cleanout.

    Just getting going...

Welcome to the board! One question about the saltiness of a finished product is, How do you intend to serve it? Turkey is one example, salmon is another. You probably don't want a lot of smoke/salt if you're going to serve large portions, but if you'll serve it as little snack bits on crackers...

    First time smoking.

I need to observe someone running that type of grill, I know almost nothing about them.

    Craving some Japanese Cuisine

In my part of town there is nothing like any kind of Asian grill. I have to do it myself, and I'm thankful for examples like this.

    Craving some Japanese Cuisine

You would like the Japanese grocery in my old part of town https://tensukemarket.com/ Now the only Asian market near me is northern Burmese Christians, so they have a lot of Thai sauces, pickles, etc. If we're turning Japanese I think we're turning Japanese I really think so you need to know...

    Mississippi Slugburgers

Hey that looks like my 10-inch Lodge skillet. When my mother was pregnant with me, she craved corn. I think that explains a lot.

    Haunted refrigerator pickels

My sister used to heat up Clausen pickle spears. She would eat two or three to make some room in the jar, then she would cut long straight red peppers and slip the slices between the spears so they were alternating red and green stripes. Give that about three days to settle flavors, and the...

    Just curious.

Ohio is an open-carry state. I would need a permit for concealed-carry, but I could walk around with a pistol on my hip in plain sight. There are exclusion areas like workplaces, stores, etc. I suppose if I actually did that, though, it would not take long for me to be surrounded by law...

    Just curious.

I briefly had a S&W 19-6. It was nice but it was hot so I got rid of it.

    Just curious.

In the 1990s I was a caretaker of a riddgetop property in east-central Ohio. The driveway climbed about 200 feet, and halfway up there was a level pad graded into the hillside, where an oil well had been, since removed. It was about the size of a basketball court. It was absolutely perfect for...
