    "Dispatching" Skunks

I've had some major skunk problems due to housing growth in my neighborhood. With no habitat they have come to my property. It's a problem when I can't walk across the yard to the shop/smoker area without running into a skunk. One year I got 8 of them the next 10 that was about 4 years ago...

    Pepper grinder.

We have had this all metal "Frugal Gourmet" for 40+ years. We got it as a gift for donating to our local educational TV station. It's all brass on the outside and cast iron innards. The handle folds in half and it broke about 15 years ago. That allen screw on the handle is my patch job...

    250 Gallon Smoke Stack

You really don't need heavy guage. I used a pole from my son's basketball hoop. It's maybe 1/16" thick. You could fab it from that and add straight sides for an oval shape. 4 sides for square, large angle irons. RG

    Merry Christmas everybody!!!

Ryan, my wife is the one who makes the pierogis for our household. She uses the kitchen-aide dough recipe, just flour, eggs, water and a pinch of salt. She makes them every year for Christmas Eve Vilija meal. This is a meal for about 20 people so she makes about 200 potato/cheese and about 50...

    Sandwich night

That's one of my weaknesses. Hot sub Sammy on fresh bread, with all the fixings. I'll get a hot "Italian" from the local pizza shop. Recently we have taken to Jersey Mikes given the price of lunch meat and selection on such a sandwich. Can't beat the price Will have to try that dressing. 👍...

    What Cookbook Software to use?

Hey. I'm considering getting new cookbook software. I am currently using Mastercook ver 15. I'm okay with this software because I've been using it for a very long time. Now I have to reimage the laptop ( not liking WIN 11 and HP). I had problems moving Mastercook onto this most recent...

    Anyone Try The Grease Box?

I have an old metal pan that goes down first to catch odd drips when the wind blows. Then it's up to an empty gallon paint can to catch the grease. Put the lid on it when done. Sometimes I'll forget to cap it off and the raccoons have a party. 🦝 RG

    Reverse Flow or ?

I used no plans at all. I had an old compressor tank that was my basis. What I built is what I learned here and Feldons calculator. I used what scrap I had on hand. Bought scrap 5/16 plate from the junkyard. I made it lefthanded so "Lefthanded" smoke is my claim to fame. I did modify...

    Reverse Flow or ?

I built a RF and love the way it cooks. Temps are even across the cooking grate. I control temps by the size of the fire Felons or Alien is a good calculator but it has its drawbacks. @daveomak did much to refine RF calculations. Make it your own. RG...

    Firebox decision

Hello from Ohio. Good that you are following the 1/3 rule for firebox size. That is just a guideline. When I built mine I sized my FB a little larger than 33%. You can just build smaller fires. I use the extra space for ash waste below the fire grate. I would use the roller if it is thick...
