    My name is from parts of my children's names. My 4 older children are Dallas, Morgan, Logan, and Mattison. Since coming up with Dalmorloson, I have had 2 more children; Kylie, and Bailey. Maybe I should be Dalmorlosoney.

    Temp problem

    I'm using a digital remote Oregon scientific themometer(I actually won it on this site in the Holiday side Q contest). Just ran to Kroger and got new tank. Still only getting 207...I'll try sand next time, but will this low temp affect 3-2-1 times very much?

    I got the lump 'cause the temp won't come up and I thought that it would help with heat. Just felt the tank...seems low but flame is good. I'll steal the tank off the grill and see if it makes a diff.

    pulled pork safe time in a cooler?

    I did 2 butts yesterday (17 hr smoke) that got to temp at 2:30 a.m. I foiled, wrapped and did the cooler thing until this morning. I got to it at about 8:30 and the temp was 150. I would think you'd have to let it go a long time to be dangerous.

    I'm in the same boat. Started 2 9# butts at 9:30 this morning...its now 12:30 a.m. and I'm at 177 degrees. I don't think I can wait it out to pull after an hour or 2 in the cooler. I will wait till temp reaches 195 then foil and towel until morning. I hope it turns out because I've got a church...

    More pork Q-view

    I smoked two butts yesterday. Long day...15 hrs. I actually had 2 plateaus. 1 at around 160 and another at around 175. That's a first for me. I didn't get it pulled until after 3 in the morning. I hope the guys at work appreciate it tomorrow. Here's a couple pics.

    I'm now 12 hrs and 15 min. into my smoke...was hoping to have Q-view by midnight, but that's not going to happen. Started 2 butts at 11:30 this morning and they're at 170 degrees now. Gotta go play Easter Bunny for my 6 kids and maybe I'll still get the Q-view out. Happy Easter everyone.

    What kind of wood is this?

    Bark looks very much like black cherry. See if you can find cherry pits on the ground (very small for wild cherry). Dried leaves are serrated oval with rust colored hairs on underside along the stem at base of leaf.
