    If the leaf had white fuzz on the underside id call it silver maple. If that leaf is about 12" across id lean towards big leaf but might be a bit far south for that. For the most part maple is maple and it can either be soft (sugar) or hard (silver, red, big leaf) based upon its Janka rating...

    My mother used to make a stuffed flank steak. Pretty sure it was crushed up ritz crackers and mushrooms. I havent had it in decades but i remember it being off the charts.

    While i spent a couple years in Storrs about 15 years ago im back to the town i grew up in, wolcott. Our poor hoops team :(. A long bend it'll be. Ive never seen beer freeze like i did today. We had to occasionally put our beers on the cool side of the kettle to keep them from slushing over.

    Ill be smoking here in CT on new years eve. 14 degrees for the high and -3 for the low. Full Carhartt weather which will allow me to wipe the bbq sauce right on the old coveralls. No napkins required.

    Im new here and fairly new to smoking as well so excuse the rook dog question. My other hobby is woodworking which means that i have gobs of random cut offs sitting around my shop. Walnut, maple, cherry, oak, pine, poplar along with some random exotics ... If i plan on using some of this...
