This is true, but compared to some of the cheaper brinkmans, and char griller offsets, this is a good pit. Yea it isn't a horizon, yoder or lang, but it was sub $400 too, while those other pits are in excess of $1000. That's the kind of money I just don't have right now.

Hey no problem, I also bought 4 bags if the lump, grabbed a double pack of the briquettes, (never used em b4) and a bag of hickory chunks, and mesquite chunks...

Good looking pit, I have the highland model. Love it. Getting ready to make my own convection plate and firebox. After that I'll seal top lid (it's not to bad like you said).

Been grilling for a while now. At least from USAF days do about 12 years. Stated smoking about 5 years ago when I got my smoking pro, now I'm on a Oklahoma Joe and I'm going to try my hand at sausage and smoked cheese soon.
