Well I was hoping for 6:30ish, but the butt may be for tomorrow's dinner LOL. I'm having a little problem getting my temp up. I'm thinking the charcoal pan is too low. i used a mod that I found on the Brinkman site and not the one on SMF. I'll fix that later, but in the mean time I need to...
Good morning fellow smokers and Happy Mother's Day to all the smoking moms on the board. Yesterday I picked up an 8# boston butt from a butcher in my area. This was my first time trying his store and I was inpressed. I will be visiting him again. Here's a Qview of my rubbed butt

Thanks for the warning. I'm just getting into the smoking field and did not realize I would want to spend every waking moment perfecting my skill and using the family as testers LOL. I'm sue this will be one hobby my family and friends will enjoy and benefit from.
Yes I am a grandma to 8 and a newbie to really smoking meat but I have given a it a try a few times. I first tried it in my 18" weber grill and a slab of ribs. Turned out ok, but I knew I could do better. So I bought an ECB to try my hand. I found instructions for mods on the Brinkman site...
