I just had my first smoke on my 18.5 the other day. I ran my thermo wires under the lid too. I had no problem adding wood chunks through the door, but it would be a pain for a complete reload through the door because the water pan is in the way.
It usually takes close to a pound for mine, but thats not even a weave. Just a single layer mat with strips side by side. Stuff with whatever you want! Recipes everywhere under the "fattie" forum.
Good Job! I have done the breasts of 2 birds over this past year. I didnt brine any of them. I did inject 1 with a butter and garlic creole mixture. But the rest i just seasoned and threw on the smoker and covered with bacon. I liked that the best. They all turned out great. Wild turkey is much...
Depends on which counties you are talking about. If you are in the quarantine area you can take wood where you want within the quarantine area. And if your not in the quarantine area you cant take wood where you want. You just cant take wood from a quarantined county to a non-quarantined...
I have done a number of sausage fatties, but not a ground beef yet. I want to try a bacon cheeseburger fattie tonight. Stuffed with cheese, onion, and pickles. Normally i take it to 165 (sausage). What temp should i take the ground beef to? That seems too high and will be dry. Can i take...
No, you were more than partially responsible. Thanks again for posting it, and letting me know you were not going to buy it. I would say most definately that i owe you some of the first Q off of it! Too bad my Saturday is wasted by a wedding in Columbus. But oh well...got all summer.
One...
Nope, i asked the same question a couple weeks ago. I asw gonna be gone all night Friday night but wanted to start smoking first thing Saturday. The reccomdations were all that you were OK to rub Thursday evening. And they were right. It came out perfect!
Everyone is on the right track here. She would have to pay good money for removal.
But i am going to say that most of that wood will be useable for you. Standing dead wood doesnt easily rot. Im not saying there wont be any rotten wood there, but the fact that its standing should be a pretty...
I would use it...I really dont think its going to hurt you. I dont know that for sure, and im no doctor or a lawyer. But i dont see why it would. Just dont keep the wood in your house, garage, or stacked right next to either. In fact, i used some cherry with some larvae in it from im...
I didnt ask any questions...Im hoping he got it as a gift and didnt want it. Real nice guy, young, about my age, and married. Not a shady looking guy or place at all. But yeah, i dont know...might roll up a fatty tomorrow after work to pop its cherry!
Are the 2 top pieces freshly cut? The grain should be pretty colored on a fresh cut/split piece of hickory. Not all hickory is stringy...but shagbark is. But theres also shellbark and bitternut i think
I agree...i started tying in smoker cooker or smoker grill to avoid the cars. This is the first deal i have seen on a smoker. Most are either big expensive or used junky ECB's or maybe an offset.
Yeah, i have done it more than a few times. When i was in college. If i saw ribs on sale i always bought a few racks...no smoker. Just a range and a grill. Boiled them...finished them on the grill with sauce. Better than Ramen Noodle and Cheff Boyardee!!
