Personally, I don't get it with pork butts and pulled pork. I've done my fair share of them for my wife's card playing friends, mainly cause it's cheaper to do. They'll eat just about anything. BUT, I hate every second of pulling that meat, and don't even sample it while doing so.
Do you some...
Other than that stupid handguard Weber has put in the new SF grills, I don't think much has changed. They MIGHT have new firmware in the controller that should be pushed out to the Smokefires in existence pretty soon.
You need a pro type slicer by Hobart or Berkel with a 12" blade. It's not so much the blade, but the carriage that will hold a 14-15" wide slab of bacon. 130-150 lbs of slicer. Check craigslist or FB Marketplace for reasonably priced slicers. They may be 20 years old or older, but they're built...
I was gonna tell you to wait on the front shelf. It's practically useless unless the lid is up, then you have to move stuff around to close the lid. There's other options available
Don't feel bad. I had a packer from HEB that I did last month. Using all the steps I've done for the last 5 years or so, It came out the toughest, stringiest brisket I've ever had. I blame the meat
First off, I'm a Texas born Texan. I always have cooked fat side down, as do most of the people I know around here. So, there's that. -From an offset stick burner, to Masterbuilt propane smoker, to Masterbuilt 1050 and the EX 6 I'm using now. The fat don't run back into the meat if it's right...
Just another vote for assembling it yourself. All you need is a screwdriver and an extra set of hands when you turn it right side up. There's an app called BILT for your phone that takes you step by step. That way you'll know that it was put together properly and not by someone at the store that...
You have a 2.4 and 5g router. 4G is for phones. You need to look for the Frontier 2236 in your wifi setup on your phone. Once you connect your phone to that service, connect your phone to the cooker using your bluetooth service. You should then be able to connect the cooker to your wifi router...
Connect your phone to the 2.4 frequency of your router. That's all it will see. Connect your phone app to the Camp Chef using bluetooth. Once that's done, you'll be able to connect the cooker to your 2.4 router using the phone app.
The cooker manual:
1. Download the Camp Chef APP from the Apple APP store or Android Play Store. 2. Turn the Grill controller on using the main power switch. 3. Open the Camp Chef APP and follow the setup instructions for connecting the grill to your home 2.4 GHz WiFi network. WARNING - Do NOT...
A brand new SF will have a little more fine ash floating around. That's why you need to spray the interior with Pam, cooking oil or other like oil. It will catch the fine dust. The more you cook on it, the less you will see that dust and then only at high temps when the fan is running full...
I highly recommend the Vacmaster products. I had a Vacmaster 320 chamber sealer that worked flawlessly until it burned up in my housefire. The proximity sensor cratered after 8 months or so, was still under warranty and they fedexed the part as soon as I called them.
Globe, Berkel, Hobart are the ones to watch for. When looking at one, make sure the thickness dial goes from 0 to full open. If it doesn't work, or is jammed, it's usually due to the previous owners using wd-40, pam or other crap which gets sticky and will jam that mechanism. If you're handy...
In my case, I do 200 lbs + of cured pork bellies each month. Each belly is at least 12" wide and 25 or so inches long. My Hobart can take the entire belly on it's carriage. I don't have to trim down the bellies whatsoever. And go from paper thin slices to about an inch wider. If you ever have...
