Seeing all those long time members no longer posting makes you wonder.

I was pretty active here 10 to 12 years ago. I have three kids who are getting to ages where they don't need me as much (except as their personal ATM and Uber). I saw a few BBQ Pit Boys videos and it rekindled my interest.

    Dutch's "Wicked Baked Beans"

I don't think so. I've only used Original and Homestyle. It's plenty rich, so it might be overkill to go with any of the more sweet or bold flavors. I'm not even sure what flavors were available when he first came up with this recipe. Of course, as always, your personal preference is the way to...

    First smoke today.

Be careful with those tenderloins (usually cook mine ~2~ hours depending on size), since they are lean they are easy to dry out. I suggest starting early. You can alway wrap in foil and a towel and they will hold that way for a quite a while (hours) but as said you need to cook to temp.

What are you smokin this weekend?

I was thinking about smoking a Cajun Meatloaf and some ABTs. Might throw a chicken in there while I'm at it but still making up my mind. (decisions, decisions).

How Did Your Thanksgiving Smoke /Dinner Turn Out?

Very good. Only my 2nd year hosting. I cooked from 4:00PM til 10:00PM on Wednesday then from the time I got up on Thursday til about 2:00PM. Smoked ham and fried turkey were both great. Only thing I was dissapointed in was I made the filling too runny for the deviled eggs and I didn't put enough...

As for us, this we'll be our second year hosting Thanksgiving Dinner at our house which I love because it means leftovers for me. I will be making a Pumpkin Roll tomorrow. Then Thursday I am deep frying a turkey and smoking a...

    thanksgiving smoke

I have deep fried a turkey for years. Last year I also smoked a spiral sliced ham. After that, corn pudding, sausage & apple dressing and mashed potatos & gravy are a must for me. Then all the family brings a dish or two. Ususally there is cole slaw, green bean casserole, broccoli casserole...

Biggest turkey that is safe to smoke?

I would like to see your DE-boning instructions . I was thinking of trying a turkucken this year. I usually deep fry a turkey. Another good option is to smoke an already smoked ham. Did this last year and it turned out great.

    Infused EVOO

I tried this recently only I didn't let it sit that long. I used garlic (fresh) and dried Italian seasoning. It was great on italian bread with some parmesan.

    Ribberfest in Madison IN.

Good luck . I used to live in Columbus, IN. Wasn't aware of any BBQ comps in the area at that time. We competed in our 1st last year and it was a blast. Definitely learned a lot.
