Issue with the Lonestar Grillz Pellet Smoker

Yes, a definite plus. I've had some Memphis pellet grills that had ramp as well. Worked great, and I would have bought one this time if they hadn't switched manufacturing to China. One other company that I know of had the ramp design, but went out of business. Unsure why.

Issue with the Lonestar Grillz Pellet Smoker

Nope, igniter has been flawless. I think the design will keep it going a long time. The igniter is NOT in the burn pot as with other smokers. I think that is what leads to their failure, exposure to continual high heat. The LSG method is to blow air over the igniter and into the burn pot. The...

Issue with the Lonestar Grillz Pellet Smoker

One other thing, it is a hungry beast and loves pellets. Did a brisket in winter and it used about 38lbs in a 13 hour overnight cook. Summertime isn't as bad. Don't know if fuel consumption is any different with chips and pellets.

Issue with the Lonestar Grillz Pellet Smoker

To add to your comment about chips, LSG chips are smaller than chips you would get elsewhere. Greatly reduces a problem with chips causing an auger jam. As for YouTube reviews, I am skeptical of pretty much all of them. You don't know if they are sponsored by the manufacturer of the product...

Issue with the Lonestar Grillz Pellet Smoker

The #1 complaint I have is the Probe (port 7) that controls the temp is right on the wall where the burn pot is. It causes the temp to be off 20f high to as much as 100f high. A work around is to use one of the 6 ports with a probe at grate level near where you cook as a the controller port. A...

GRRRr... Did I Or Did I Not ??

I do. Useful on a cruise ship. Phones can't handle time zone changes with nobody to talk to. Also easier to look at than have to get out the cell.

    Grill Brush

I have a few, but wire brush is my favorite, and always take few paper towels, fluff them into a ball and go over the grill with it after brushing.

    Making your own sausages?

Here's my 2 cents... What you buy (AKA - how much you spend) depends somewhat on how much you plan to make on a regular basis. Only 5 - 7 pounds, you can get by with smaller (less expensive) equipment. If you will be doing large amounts regularly, you could still use the smaller size equipment...
