Anybody tried mixing chopped bacon with 90/10 ground beef?

I've added some pre-cooked bacon to ground beef. It seemed to solve the rendering problem.

    Thanksgiving in July

One year at TG, I found bone-in breasts for $.99 lb. I bought 9 of them and smoked them all in my fridge conversion, then froze. Gave most of them out as Xmas gifts to the in-laws.

Uhhh....okay? Hope it tasted better than it looks. :emoji_wink:

About to do a small Davomak ham, do not want to use veg stock

I also use this. If the commercial broths don't do it for you guys, making a vegetable broth from scratch is pretty easy. I remember making one years back, that was either Alton Brown's or Emeril Lagasse's recipe.

    Beef Pho

Ha! That's about the time I first tried it, too. Mine was in the Columbia Tower in Seattle, run by a Vietnamese gal, with her mother in the back making the Pho. It came in a huge, freaking china bowl (not plastic) for about $6. There's nothing like soup made by somebody's mother. Unfortunately...

    Rhino, it's what's for dinner.

I guess I do, too. Racing across the Savannah in the back of an open pickup truck, trying to lasso a 3-ton rhino with a stick and a rope. Sure. :emoji_laughing: I guess they didn't have set safety coordinators or OSHA in Africa back then. That movie would be a studio legal dept nightmare now.

    New RecTeq Backyard beast

Yeah, the OP seems to have dropped off again in Sept. '24. So, looks like these are about $1,199 everywhere. Do they ever go on sale?

Not that old. And the only one that is specific to the grill I'm looking for.

Beef Back Ribs on the Weber Smokey Mountain

Oh man, that looks good! Nice price on the ribs, too. That would be 3x that price here.

    Santa Maria Rub

Last I made a tri tip (not on a Santa Maria, though), I used SPG and some dried Hatch chile flakes that I bought from Trader Joe's. Came out great!

Trying some new BBQ sauces with some heat (I hope)

I saw that there, too. Let us know what you think of it. My friend Joe owns the local pub that I frequent. He loves hot s**t, too. Me, not so much. I like a little kick, but not so much that I can't breathe. A while back one of the other regulars gave him a bottle of homemade bbq sauce that I...

Life Gets in the Way, Times Whatever

Ha! I've played that course at Lake Tapps. About 60 miles from here. Small world. No, from what I can see, I'm close to a tee on a hole that goes parallel to the building. Little chance of someone hitting it at a 90° angle off the tee straight at me. I agree. I'll start looking before summer is...
