Yeah mine is on the left. I can send you a word doc that I downloaded on mods for this guy too. Mainly a baffel in front of the heat inlet. I had a guy in my fab shop at work cut me one out of 1/8 inch metal but I haven't installed it yet.
How much was your score?? I found a similar Brinkman model recently for just $100.00 and all of the meat hooks, skewers, and stuff had never been opened yet.
Man that looks like a BIG fire box for that size tank. I bet you could get a larger upper tank and still be in good shape. I am trying to do some work on my reverse flow now. Want to put a better suspension underneath it and redo the work shelf / cutting board on the side. I'll send some pics...
Found a classified ad for this Brinkmann smoker in the paper used. The lady was asking $125.00 for her. Included all the original parts - rib rack, hanging hooks, skewers, etc. If anyone has this unit or experience with it I'd love to hear.
As always - Thanks for a great forum!

Welcome to the group. I'm down in Mobile. Does that Smoke n Grill have a side firebox?? If so check out the mods for the smoke n pit. I am sure you will benefit from the enhancements.

Look at this thread to see how I modified the down draft. I followed the advice of the other guys here and it has helped tremendously in getting the temps right.

Also there was a great post recently where Rivet chimed in and helped out with...
I wish we had the pics of the brisket and stuff on the counter. It was my first one and man it was good. It was really hard to slice it was so tender.
I really expected it to take a lot longer from what I had read, but we pulled it off in about an hour per pound.
One other lesson learned was...
Well we christened up the new rig yesterday. This is a reverse flow that I basically stole from my friends dad. They used to have a BBQ joint in town, but shut it down several years ago. I found her rusting away in his back yard and since he treats me like one of the kids I walked away with it...
Rivet - very informative! I have the same smoker, but have not tried lifting the charchoal pan up on the left side. Can you post a pic of this setup?? I was thinking about trying the upside down thing.
Thanks

Are the Brinkman Smoke n Pit's considered to be both charcoal and or stick?? Currently I am using charcoal and adding wood chunks, but would not mind at all using wood the entire time.
