Dude, I tried seven ways to Sunday to get it working - the weird thing was that it just started working as I was siting here reading through the boards. Maybe there was some kind of RF interference that was jamming the channel that it works on. It's been working nonstop all night.
Boston...
OK, well... it just mysteriously started getting a reading. So disregard the last post for now...
Just not sure who to give the rep points to - maybe the AW131 since it fixed itself?
Hey Tim & all that have the Oregon Scientific AW131...
I've been having problems with my wireless probes. I've been through two AW131's and another inferior one from Target, which ironically worked for longer than the AW131 did.
My problem with both of the AW131's is that for the life of me I...
Yeah, that's always been a little weird to me. It's still not on there... Did you get it for the new reduced price? They're selling for $139 down here - in the Lowes that still have them.
Here's a pic I'll submit for the Newbie category... Got my smoker on Memorial Day, and this was the largest project I did this summer, which was on the 4th of July. Eight birds at once, done three different ways - 1) top two racks with a rub, 2) third rack brined, and 3) bottom rack soaked in...
My condolences shorts - but don't despair... I read an article just the other day that said something like 84% of teenagers now go at least a couple of months as vetetarians, but only like 13% of them actually stick with it.
I think you need to do some ribs or maybe a brisket - bet that'll be...
Sorry to hear about that, I know you were disappointed.
I've known some heretics that boil theirs ahead of time and then just throw them on an open smoker to brown them and give them a little smoke flavor... but with yours I'm not sure - can you post a pic of them maybe? If they've already...
I've seen a ton of questions lately about different pork cuts - most notably ones about the relationship between picnic and butt - so I though I'd post this chart that shows where each come from:
This has probably been posted a bunch in the past, but I hope this helps some folks out with...
You know you're right - there's no real place for non-smoked main dish recipes. I might stick the relenos in sides, but definitely post the wings under chicken. They're not smoked, but they are most definitely chicken .
You never know, a thread like that might evolve into something entirely...
I'd recommend the boston butt... it's pretty easy to do but if you can find a picnic for cheaper get that. Same results, really if you're shooting for pulled pork.
mssmith - that is an absolutely beautiful piece of hardware you've got there.
chrish - you my friend are a marketing genius. i'm going to get right on that cologne idea. "Eau de Hickory". I'll do the ice bucket liquid smoke trick (a la alton brown) for the base. Might be hard to wash off...
