It’s looking good but slow going for only a 2.5lb roast. IT is at 147 now and was shooting to begin rest around 4, doubt that’ll happen. Bumped cook temp to 250, will wrap in butcher paper soon.
Thanks gents.. we'll see if taxes happen or not! lol
Appreciate the tip!
I think slicing it like you would brisket. We'll see how that pans out...hopefully it holds together and doesn't fall apart!
For the first time in history I (a professional working schlub) have a holiday off that my wife (teacher) doesn't. It is always the other way around. It's a hurricane makeup day here in Orlando so schools are in session - wife and kids are out of the house and it's just me here today, so I'm...
Also recommend checking out Spey River. The 12 year runs around $50 / bottle and is a really good sip, and a lot more budget friendly than the Macallans. Macs charge a premium for name recognition (they are also very good).
For a purist it would not truly be a substitue as Macallan is a...
Nice to meet another local! We have gone all in WFF so did the membership which was $30/year for unlimited shipping, as long as our order meets $35. Wind up doing an order or two a month, limited mostly by freezer size.
We also have gone in on Kroger grocery delivery, even with their more...
Just checked my Publix... chuck roast is on sale for $3 off per lb, still 50 cents more per pound than WFF! Publix in our area (suburban Orlando) is unreal. The only things we go there for are pharmacy and bakery for fresh hamburger buns.
WFF it is. Going to try and cook the chuck like a...
Read the room my dude. You have 3-4 very experienced smokers saying the same thing and you are actively dismissing their advice. They're not saying these things to hijack your thread or shame you, they're saying them so you don't blow up your smoker. Believe it or not they do actually care...
It's like the forum gods were listening to me. I was thinking last night I need to break out of my comfort zone of doing the same few recipes over and over, and was looking at some of the cheaper cuts on Wild Fork. I think this one just got added to the list. More expensive per pound than a...
For what it's worth they will likely send you the money even if you don't review. I took them up on the vacuum sealer offer. Wouldn't rate it 5 stars so I didn't rate it at all (not going to leave a dishonest review)...still got the money.
File a chargeback with your CC and be done with it. You probably have a 90 day limit on that and you're getting close. You've given the manufacturer more than enough time to sort it.
If you need a recommendation on E-File I highly recommend FreeTaxUSA. It includes most of the bells and whistles of fully featured Turbotax and HR Block online tools but is truly free for your federal return (unlike the BS "free" version of the other two). You can go to a premium level with...
They definitely are hogs, but it's a trade off I'm OK with. Between work, kids, and stuff around the house I don't have as much time to dedicate to hobbies as I'd like. The WSM I used to have burned super efficiently, but I had to keep a reasonably close eye on it. The 1050 is on autopilot for...
I'm the opposite here. I did not want to add mods to the 1050, but the quality just wasn't there. Although to be fair I did wait over a year before adding mods and in general terms agree with you, with the exception of the firebox mod.
I'll advise that people add the firebox mod immediately...
