    Where do most get salvage thermostats for homemade elec

    From my experience when I tried it..... Most all kitchen ranges are made for 220 volts. When you run them on 110 volts, you don't get just 1/2 the heat--- NO, you get 1/4 the heat. That's not enuff to do the job. Unless, you are doing some smoking at really low temps. Don't take my word for...

    Pulled Pork, Tri-Tip, smooshed taters & cauliflower

    lower temps MES = no smoke

    I have had the 30" MES for about a year. I can get good smoke at 170F. No tricks. It just works. That's with dry chips. Wet chips would take longer. Chunks would take even longer. From a cold start, give it 10 or 15 minutes b4 giving up.

    Larger Load = More Time?

    My guess is that it will slowly collect smoke and grease, etc and finally stop turning. But.....I've been wrong before. Good luck.
