I don't ask for a 'Veteran's discount' but for a 'Military Discount'. At my HD, it makes a difference. I still have my old laminated ID and they just glance at this young kid on the picture and give me the discount.
Well, I flat don't know! I wasn't aware that one gave a smoke ring and the other didn't. Pellets don't but wood does............ Beats the s$%^ out of me! Pellets burn themselves while wood/chips are forced to burn by the element. Don't know.
No, while the AMNPS is interesting, I don't see how that could make a difference but I'm willing to learn. I've read as much about people having trouble keeping them lit in MES' without making mods as I have about how good they are. Smoke is smoke is smoke, me thinks. Maybe for my next butt...
Yea, I was leaving that as an option until you said you needed a new one every time. I'd use 3 a week at the rate I'm trying to feed the troops! I did find that Westley's BleachWhite for tires works good as does my wife's oven cleaner but I have to agree with you that I don't like the idea of...
Hell, I'm 70 so I remember Farrah Fawcett in diapers............ Well, not really but that's a great idea! I'm sure I can think of quite a few different ones. hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I believe you, Bear. Mine just gets worse and worse as the day goes on. Never goes back to dried up stuff. Looks more like creosote. Maybe it has something to do with the different paths of circulation between the models. I've smoked with apple, oak, and plum. All have the same result...
Bear, you must have a VERY SPECIAL edition of the window MES because mine is completely covered with condensation/gook (not the VC kind)/black crud after every smoke. I'm using it a lot for pulled pork, chicken, and brisket and it ALWAYS is blacked out after 7 hours except for the chicken...
I'm all for women in the Services since they have proven that they are capable (look at Israel!!!) but to put them on submarines, to me, is just about the stupidest, PC BS move ever made. It will do nothing but make everyone's job even more stressful and harder trying not to do or say the wrong...
When I use the brown sugar, I pack it on to the sides and top so that it's a solid covering. For the one in the picture, I sliced it across the top and bottom so that it would accept and hold the liquid vinegar mix. I only put it on 3 more times during the smoke and still got a nice bark on it.
Just finished pulling an 8 pound butt that I used a vinegar 'mop' on for the first time. OMG, it's good! I was using a spice and brown sugar smothered coating before. 7 hours at 275 in my MES. A little fast but needed it for supper! I slept in. It still pulled very well and plenty moist.
