Thanks Mike for posting these pics. This was a very fitting send off for John. He would have appreciated it. Gary

Smoked Potato Gravy Bombs and Smoked pork steak, sliced and fried

WOW!! I hadn't seen your potato bombs before, David. What a fantastic idea. That's a great meal all around. Gary

    Throwing Y'all a Surf-n-Turf Curve Ball

When my nieces were still very young, I got them each a pair of rabbit skin mitts (fur on) for Christmas one year. One of their friends asked them where rabbit skin mitts come from. They answered "Dead rabbits". :emoji_joy: :emoji_joy: Gary

    Throwing Y'all a Surf-n-Turf Curve Ball

Looking good John, looking damn good. I love rabbit, but I've never gotten creative about cooking them. They usually get cooked on a spit over an open fire right in the bush. Looks like I'll have to shoot a couple and give this a try. Gary

    Fed up!

Before I added the mailbox mod, I tried putting the AMNPS in every available spot I could think of. I even tried removing the chip dumper all together. But nothing worked for me. I couldn't get it to burn for so much as half an hour. Gary

    Ninja Woodfired Grill

I'm a little leery about quality. Masterbuilt has been pretty bad the last few years with the MES line. Their therms and controllershave never been any good. As for all the functions, that fellow on one of the videos said he couldn't get it to make good fries. And lastly, their customer...

    Daughters CI cook!

Wow Justin!! Judging from that great money shot, that girl can cook. Sure nice to see a 15 year old actually actively participating in the family life and doing something special for her dad. You've obviously done a great job of raising her and instilling good practices. She cooked a really...

    Fed up!

Sure. PM me and I'll give you any tips I have. But I gotta tell you, most of what I learned about setting up a mailbox mod I got from @daveomak . He's done multiple posts on the mod, so I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for--just too many. Hopefully he'll see this and...

    MES w/ mailbox vs Recteq

My MES has sat outside, uncovered, but under my deck roof, 24 hours a day year round, since the day I bought it. I live in the Alberta Foothills--lots of snow and some ugly cold winters. I replaced the element with one for a MES 40 for more power, rewired it, and added the above mentioned...

    Fed up!

If you're not using a mailbox mod with your MES, then I highly recommend you do so. I've been using one with my MES 30 for years and would never go back to trying, and failing miserably, to be able to put the AMNPS inside the MES and have it stay lit.. I nuke the pellets for 2 goes of 2 minutes...

Apricot and Ginger Glazed Pork Tenderloin

Great job Kim. Pork tenderloin is a big favorite at our place too. There are just so many flavors that go so well with it. Gary

    Coq au Vin for Selma

Great job!! I love Coq au Vin--absolutely delicious. The addition of brandy really kicks it up a notch. Haven't eaten that dish since the 70s. Gary

    Bad news

The lion's probably thinking "Am I really hungry enough to eat that, knowing where its been???" Gary

    $44,000 Smoker. Probably Sucks.

I can't even imagine spending $44000 on a smoker, or having monthly payments of just under $4000. Figure I'll just stick with my MES--does everything I need to feed the two of us. Gary

Easter cook Chuck, Ham, asparagus, cream cheese and peach dump cake

Looking good. I could handle a plate or two of that spread. Gary
