Yup that's the best way to learn, just simple trial and error.
Done that once too, not always easy to find a good place for the probe with a 13-14 lb brisket! :)
Cheers bud
Nice job Duke!
I avoided smoking our turkey cause my wife takes pride in preparing a huge turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas and I would not hear the end of it if I smoked one and it turned out better than hers! LOL
Cheers.
Great job Chris...I use that exact technique too but when I foil I toss in butter and brown sugar instead of the cider.
Great pics and great looking ribs!
Welcome Dusty!
I love injecting and marinated my briskets as they turn out real well for me. For the injection I keep it simple by simply injecting at every square inch or so with some beef broth.
You can find my whole process here...
Awesome looking turkey Jeff!
At what temp were you smoking at? And at what IT did you pull it off?
Have not tried smoking a turkey yet, but I might just use your post as a goto for our Thanksgiving Turkey in October! :)
Thanks! Took about 15.5 hours :)
Thanks David...for sure gonna keep smoking and getting better...would not be as much fun if there wasn't something to learn after each smoke. Cheers!
LOL Thanks Ham!
Not sure if you were planning to, but I would not waste time on injecting...I tried one of Jeffs newsletters a few months back: Butter injected Burnt End...really did not find that the time spent injecting every piece with butter was worth it. They will turn out delicious without it IMHO.
Good...
Impressive, would love to smoke some bacon one day. Just gotta get me one of them $150 Hobart slicers...something tells me I will be waiting for quite some time! LOL ;)
