JJ Grey and Mofro, Vintage Trouble, Ray Charles, Tab Benoit, Alabama Shakes, Soul of John Black, The Allman Bros and Celia Cruz are all jumbled up on a Flash Drive in my Suburban right now for my daily drives (I'm in the truck between 3-6 hours a day depending on work load)
For babysitting the...
Man oh man.....thats a sure fire way to start a fight!! My family and friends have agreed to not broach that subject, we have a Magna Carta that was drawn up with the agreement being that without beans...we'll refer to it as Chili Con Carne (beef and hot peppers) and what I described above as...
Let me help you bump it up another notch there partner. Carne Molida (hamburger) is no way to make real chili. I will call it by it's Spanish name because we are talking about chorizo. As a Texican by birth and pride....Chili needs to be made with real chunks of beef. Smoke a chuckie then cut...
Gary....Must be about the same as me.....I'm from the South and a self confessed gear head. I absolutely can't watch more than 3 minutes of NASCAR without worrying I am losing brain cells. IMHO only....the most boring damn thing ever....the idea that the only excitement is when someone wrecks...
Dang Gary....hard to find hooch and a shortage of chorizzo. WTH do you have to look forward to other than Hockey night with Don Cherry?
Ok....that may be a little harsh, but I couldnt imagine not getting my chorizzo fix. Even the big box store's meat markets mix their own both here and in LA...
I have a new one to add to the favorites list. Big House Bourbon. Daaaaaang fine for the price. And as an added bonus they make a Honey Bourbon that has moved up to my number one for sweet sipping and cooking. I have read y'alls choices regarding the honey bourbons. The Evans is good, The Jack...
Mix it with a couple different cheeses and rice, then stuff some peppers with it. Throw in the smoker and it should be done in about 3.5-4 hrs at 275.
One of my crews favorites.
Another option that tried once a few weeks ago and went over well, filet out your pork loin, spread the...
THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY
I wrestled for them from 84-88. There was a bar on High Street where they sold Beer by the 5 gallon buckets, Genny Beer (not Ale) was the cheapest at the time. Interior was picnic tables, music was awesome, typical jock/sports dive.
Where OH Where to Start?
Let's see, the jar of pickled pigs feet I keep in my under the counter wine bar? How about the Jar of pickled eggs? On a roll here..so let's keep going!! Sweet Sue Chicken and dumplings in a can (found it in college, a perfect pick me up after to much Genny Beer in a...
Where I live part of the year in LA we have them and we call them Cajun Microwaves. I have used them a few times, not hard to make, cook absolutely awesome. Search on instructables and youtube for videos on how to build.
My gramma made bounce as well. I remember cherry and strawberry being the two most prominent batches. Biggest difference I can recall is she made hers with cheap whiskey......Old Grandad, Kesslers, Canadian Club and such. She'd make them in jars then set them in her closet to age. I have...
Thanks for sharing.....perhaps I'll double the bourbon and add in some Worcestersire (don't laugh y'all know what I'm trying to spell!!) rather than using the water.
Looking dang tasty there FWI!!
I just got 2 boxes from Hills on Lower Huntington yesterday. They have 10 lb boxes of tips for $15 I have one soaking in the cooler for the smoker tomorrow and put one in the freezer.
They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Be flattered Chief, this old bosun is going to shamelessly copy that meal this week for the crew! That looks freakin awesome. I may replace the Beam with some Big House Tupelo Honey Boubon......but definitely gonna rip this off.
Well Done.
I believe the others are on to something as far as the soaked wood, you shouldn't really use it. If dry wood is "flaming up pretty quickly" it would appear that you may have an issue with your air control to the fire box. If you can shoot a couple pics showing the fire box area itself...
Perhaps we can call them something other than Christmas Trees? I love the looks of them as much as the next guy.....I just don't want to see this shit before the leaves come off the trees!! Does that make me a frickin Scrooge?
