Looks good Mike! It is a lot of work making brats.
I helped a coworkers out three different times making 600 lbs total over those three times. Ate up the whole weekend each time. Now I will only do small batches for my family alone!
Nice post!
Thanks for the info on the stuffer! I looked into the reviews of the scale and it seems that most people have no problems with it, and those that do are contacted by the company for a hassle free replacement. The OXO scale looks nice but for the price difference and what I will be using it for...
Okay good, sounds like you have a plan. I have never messed with stuff like that. I was mainly pointing out that a 1200 watt element should work for the size of smoker. Keep us posted on how it goes!
Anyone have advice for this?
Have you looked into these as far as where you can find them? I was just wondering what your setup will look like for controlling the temp on the MES 40 element. I haven't looked into parts for the MES 40 but I know the element is controlled by the integrated control panel on the top of the...
Got a question about the Grizzly 5# stuffer: what will I be able to make with this, size wise? I am assuming sausage links, hot dogs, and brats. Will I also be able to make small snack sticks and large summer sausage? Thanks!
The dual probe Maverick ET-733 is on my Christmas list and I want it for this very purpose, monitoring smoker temp along with meat temp.
With that said, I still plan on putting a dial thermometer in my E-ECB just so I can see what the temp is if I don't have a digital therm set up.
I am...
Thanks for the info bmaddox!
On Amazon right now the 609 and the 615 are the same price. I think that is why my wife chose it. Looked a little "fancier" maybe.
I remember the whole ordeal with the FoodSaver price issue. I tried getting in on the "good deal" but it wouldn't even let me get as...
Their website says 100°-275°F with their element and controls, but I would have to check to see what I could actual get it to. (It's my dad's smoker but I use it from time to time.)
I have an E-ECB that has a 1500 watt element. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any control so I will be getting a...
Okay so my wife has been helping me pick specific items for my Christmas list. She made the comment, "Lot's of smoking/grilling stuff lol" I suppose that's a pretty good approval statement, or at least I'll take it as one!
So here is what she found based on reviews and such.
-Meat slicer...
That is a very nice looking smoker!
I don't have any experience with propane smokers go, but yours is roughly the same size as the MES 40 which runs on a 1200 watt electric element. I'm not sure what insulating properties the MES has compared to yours but there are lots of options for electric...
You saved me the headache of figuring that all out myself. I would have vac sealed the first ones after slicing without thinking about it. I am assuming they wouldn't be very pretty our patty like after that. Nice work!
