    Free to a good home..

I've got someone else checking on affordable shipping out west.  If he's not able to find a doable solution, I'd be willing to meet you in Binghamton, if that helps.

    Free to a good home..

I haven't done any checking, but judging from the crazy prices ups charges for boxes of dvds I ship for business, I have a feeling it would be cheaper to buy a new one than ship these.  If you'd like to look into economical shipping, you're more than welcome to.  I just think they're too big &...

    Free to a good home..

Bummer, I wish all you guys lived closer.  I'd be happy to drive these to Buffalo or Erie, but the Rockies, and farther, is a little more than I'm willing in the winter. Lol

    Free to a good home..

My wife got tired of waiting for me to fix the burned up wiring ends in my MES 40, so she went out and bought me a new one.  Now I have 2 non-working MES 40s (Gen 1) that someone can either rewire back to stock, or rewire to work with a PID.  One of these just needs a new power cord spliced back...

Help for novice wiring MES to PID

I thank you all for the expert help.  I thought I had this all dialed in this last time, but it still threw the breaker on the gfi outlet.  While I was trying to figure out where my mistake was, my wife got sick of me shocking myself and went out and got me a new Masterbuilt v.2.5.  So if anyone...

Help for novice wiring MES to PID

Ok, cool.  Those last few posts give me somewhere to start working.  I'm going into a GFIC outlet on my deck, but I'll have it checked to make sure it's wired right.  I'll try to get that carbon & other gunk cleaned up and reattach the wires better next. Thanks!

Help for novice wiring MES to PID

Dward51 - Yes it is, but that's just a temp job to see if it would work.  Once I can get it to work without shocking me (properly grounded), I'll come up with a permanent attachment to that post and seal all the connections.  But first I need to find a place to ground it right so it doesn't...

Help for novice wiring MES to PID

Thanks for the input so far.  I should have mentioned that I'm using an Auber WS-1500ELPM.  It's designed to have a heater plugged into it directly.  I'm guessing my main problem at this point is my ground.  I ran my green wire to the stainless body of my MES.  Is stainless not a good ground, or...

Help for novice wiring MES to PID

I had the usual problem a lot of other people have had, after a few great years with my MES 40, it finally burnt the connection off the end of the heating element.   I figured this was a good time to pick up an Auber PID.  My thought was to run a power cord straight from the heating element to...

Come Back Every Day to Win! A-MAZE-N Products Thanksgiving Giveaway

"If I win the A-MAZE-N-PELLET-SMOKER Contest, I plan to smoke everything for Thanksgiving.”

    Another AMNPS-MES Question

I keep a spoon by my smoker to separate the burning pellets from the unburned ones, when I load in too many.  Burns out pretty quick without wasting the rest of the pellets.

    Cleaning mes 40 window

Alcohol and a paper towel cleans it up very easily when it's still warm.

Please help!! A-MAZE-N pellets keep going out in brand new MES 40 from SAMS

Microwaving helped some when I was having trouble.  But now I get much better results by just loading & putting the AMNPS in my smoker for an hour while it pre-heats.  Hot pellets light & stay lit easily.

What marinade should I use with Ground Beef Jerky?

Walmart carries it during deer season, but I usually get it from Amazon.  The last time I ordered it, prices had gone up, but after a quick search I found some for $6.50 (for a box of 6, does 6lbs) shipped from casa.com Like other brands, the Oster includes cure and seasoning in the package.

What marinade should I use with Ground Beef Jerky?

I haven't had much luck with marinades on ground beef.  The ones I've tried gave it a really weird consistency when it dried.  What I've had the most luck with is just the Oster brand Jerky Seasoning and a little McCormick's Hot Shot, & Worcestershire Sauce.  The Oster seasonings give it a lot...
