Put it in some pasta or beans. Usually takes me 4 to 5 hours to cook ribs unless there really meaty then they might go 6 hours and I’ve never wrapped ribs. This is cooking at under 250. Cooked in some bbq sauce would make them tastey I think
I mainly just see a difference on how they burn. Apple burns very hot and fast. The cherry does seem to give a nice color to the meat the like everyone says.
Just did a beef tenderloin yesterday and used pretty much all walnut and it tasted no different then any other of my woods. They all...
Live oak is oak. I just looked on google pics. It Has rays on the end grain and porous looking face grain. Those two characteristics are oak for sure. I’ve heard there are over 23 kinds of oak trees. I’ve actually buring some now in my smoker
He’s putting it in a cooler that will stay hot in there and continue to cook it. Different from putting it on a plate and putting foil over it. The cooler will stay much warmer and it will continue to cook it. Bet 5 bucks
Nice! I sell firewood and I’ve heard from couple of customers that the store bought stuff isn’t as good and burns like cardboard. A customer gave me a piece of mesquite once and he told me they inject it with oil. Probably so it won’t dry out Uber bad. I only deliver my firewood so I tell the...
Here’s how my spare ribs come out without my ever touching the ribs besides put oil and rub on, I like baby backs better myself, I believe your just trimming the cartilage off to turn the spares into St. Louis cut i did these last week. There’s no bbq sauce on there
I don’t really do anything to the meat while it’s in the smoker. Just put some oil and some rub that I like and put it on the smoker before even lighting my fire. That way it comes up slow on temp and gets more Smokey. Also you won’t get any smoke in your face since the fire isn’t lit yet...
Thanks! I don’t really tell much flavor difference between the woods. And it tasted like it was on a propane bbq. Not much smoke. Cap steak btw from the butcher shop. I prefer it smoked myself.
Red alder grows in my area. Did this steak the other night Over some nice alder. It’s a very easy wood to split it’s a known wood to use for salmon but really you can use it for anything like most woods
Never had a problem using my chainsaw with stihl oil. Not one customer has complained about anything and most the oil gets flung off the end of the bar and goes in the chip, so none really left on the wood. Stihl might use vegetable oil anyway I think
