Idaho, I have only used it the one time so far. The plate on my is not flush either. I just checked the tightness on mine, once the ring is tightened I could not turn the auger by hand either. Thanks for the recipes Gearloose, All my recipes call for beer and once in a while some goes in the mix, mostly they are for the cook. I would think they were too spicy from the cayenne pepper not the beer. I usually have to cut the amount of pepper in half to suite my taste. I'll give these... -

Stuffer vs. stuffer vote
I have a 5 lbs Gander Mountain stuffer with nylon gears. So far no troubles. Had a problem with a LEM dehydrator under warranty. One phone call, free shipping and it was fixed. I was quite pleased with their customer service. Craig -
Fine Kosher salt?
Thank you for the info. I figured Kosher salt would be the same no matter who's brand. That explains why some recipes end up being so much saltier than expected. I need to change brands. Great info. Craig -
