It's true that there were often long lines to see the Disney characters. Seems to matter which character and what time of day. Our grandson LOVED it, which was really fun for us. We liked it very much, but the hordes of children can become a bit taxing after a few days.
The ocean scenery...
We went on our first cruise in January - took our 7 y.o. grandson and his parents on a Disney cruise to the Bahamas. Cruising was never on my bucket list, buy Mrs. Red has always wanted to do it. I enjoyed it more than I thought I might. And since it was our grandson's first cruise, it was...
Strong work, Danny! The fit and finish are looking good! The slight "hang up" on the door shouldn't be too difficult to address - probably nothing that a few minutes with a grinder won't fix...which is kinda like applying @chopsaw 's idea of beveling the inner diameter.
I'm liking your design...
That's great @BigW. !!
Thank you for posting your first 2 cooks on that pit...that all looks absolutely terrific! And thanks for all the kind comments!
Looking forward to many more cooking threads! :emoji_thumbsup: I wish you nothing but many happy years of cooking on the pit!

Thanks Bud...I bought a set of these casters for my welding table - liked them a lot so I figured they be a good upgrade for this smoker too.
I can relate the not having any more room! Ya just gotta get rid of something else brother - then you'll have room for one of these! It's a pretty...
Thanks Brother! I think it'll be a searing machine for sure!
:emoji_laughing: :emoji_laughing: :emoji_laughing:
That took a turn! Didn't expect this to turn into a Chevy v Ford war LOL! TBH, I've never really picked a side in that argument - I've owned both Ford and Chevy trucks...and...
Thank you Sir for the kind comments!
LOL my wife always said the same about our kids...until they did something dumb, then she'd say they took after me! :emoji_laughing:

Just wanted to post the conclusion of this project. I delivered it to it's new home yesterday!
Here is @BigW. standing next to his new pit! What a nice gentleman! W, it was so nice to meet you and your son. Thanks again! Little W is a nice young man, which to me, says a lot about his...
Thank you Sir! I’m thinking the design will allow a person to do every kind of smoking and grilling all on a single cooker…at least that’s my hope.

Haha! Thanks Danny! You may be right - I probably AM nuts! 🤣
As I’ve said, I figured I could sell it on other platforms for more, but I’m happy to let a SMF buddy have it for cost. That way I’ll get to watch him cook on it!

Appreciate the kind words BigW. I had watched many of the same videos, and decided I wanted to design and build a cooker that had all the best features of both - and then some!
One of the first things I thought was how well this setup would work for a rotisserie. I was thinking of drilling...
Thank you Sir!
Thanks Brother! I'm sure I could have posted it on Craigslist or Marketplace and sold it for more money, but I decided when I sold the first one to Ryan that I didn't care about making a profit off of a forum buddy. I'm happy seeing it go to another SMF member...and getting my...
Heck yeah! No question about a man's priorities when his kids are small. It's been a long time for me - our youngest is 36. We do enjoy spoiling our grandsons though!
It's awesome that your son loves to cook out with his Dad! Those experiences are worth way more than any smoker for sure...
