    Just wanted to post an update on my recovery. Things are getting better slowly but I am making steady progress. I finally got a decent night of sleep last night and am hoping that this trend continues. I am feeling stronger and am confident that within a few weeks I will be back in the game...

    Proportional or Linear PID control of electric smoker

    From my experience, the thermal time constant of the heating element itself makes pulsed versus phased control nearly identical. In short, phased control is simply not worth the extra money for this type of application. My $0.02. JC :emoji_cat:

    Could be a defective thermocouple. I have seen that before. Your wiring looks correct so I don't think that is the issue. JC :emoji_cat:
