I would like to give a shout out to @JC in GB.

That is why I pretty much abandoned trying to make a PID with control output for gas. Just too many safety concerns. If you have a valve set up already put together, I can likely figure out the interface you would need to mate it up to a PID controller. JC :emoji_cat:

First time grinding brisket for burgers...

Another thing I am going to have to try. I am almost out of beef from the 1/4 cow I purchased a while back. Next trip to Costco I will be getting a brisket. Thanks for the post. JC :emoji_cat:

    Coconut Jerk Pork Steak

Wow, that looks awesome. I am going to have to try that. I love the Walkerswood jerk paste. A friend of mine asked me about how to do jerk chicken and pork. I sent him to the store for some Walkerswood jerk paste and he took third place in the Jamaican jerk competition he was in. Never...

    PI Controller project

LM555 can source 200 mA at 15 VDC. Some of the newer ones can only sink 100 mA. The TI LMC555 DSBGA package is only 1.5mm x 1.5mm. Unreal... JC :emoji_cat:

    PI Controller project

I have used many a 555 timer. I even used one for a PWM driver. That is some old but reliable tech right there. :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_blush:

    PI Controller project

Just wanted to provide an update to the PI controller project. After getting my last two issues fixed, the bias point of the output comparator and the fan driver output, I am ready to put this circuit down on a protoboard and then test it out on my smoker. In the past, if I needed a...

    Can ya recommend a WOK?

Just saw this post. Hope I am not too late to the party. This is the wok I have. I use this wok mainly for cooking Indian cuisine and it works great. https://misen.com/products/carbon-steel-wok?variant=39455827361873 I also have a cast iron wok. Great for deep frying as it holds temp...

Getting the right amount of smoke for taste

It also depends on the style of smoker you have. I felt that the Masterbuilt electric I had never gave me enough smoke flavor even using a pellet tube. I have had smoked meat from a wood only smoker that was very good. My charcoal smoker I have gives the widest range of smoke profile I have...

    PI Controller project

Good day all. Not sure if anyone is interested in this but I have been working on a PI controller design for use on a charcoal smoker. My point to this was to evaluate if an analog PI controller will regulate smoker temp as well as a digital PID controller. My testing up to this point has...

    Indian cooking - Butter Chicken

Well, I made pork Vindaloo this weekend for the first time. I have to give it a 2 of 5 stars. I think I messed up on the recipe. It was too vinegary, too hot, and had too much clove in it. I will eat the rest of it but if I make it again, I am going to have to make some changes to the...

    Indian cooking - Butter Chicken

Amazingly enough, we have three Indian restaurants here in Green Bay. All three of them are very good. I have gone to all of them a time or two or three. :emoji_laughing: JC :emoji_cat:
