    1st Pulled Pork - QView

Hello! So here's my first pulled pork attempt. Bought 2 7 lb's from Costco and put my rub of choice and wrapped yesterday. Here it is at 8am this morning. 8AM 11AM, bark is forming. I converted my ECB into propane for the long haul. It's windy out today too. Temps maintaining at...

    ECB charcoal to propane conversion

I may try converting mine this weekend! I have a full tank and an old turkey fryer think I can probably manage to use with it. I hope there's enough LP to last for the 8+ hours on the boston butt I plan on doing.

    Brine?

So either way it won't matter if I brine or not. Less work seems better to me then! Maybe one day I'll do two at one time, one brined, one not and compare.

    Brine?

Oh ok. I guess I'll try injecting stuff into it then use my rub.

Do you guys brine boston butts before putting the rub on? Just curious since I'll be doing my first pulled pork this weekend.

how to smoke a whole chicken.

When brining, I'm assuming you keep it in the fridge? I've never brined yet since it always comes out juicy but will definately give it a go... If you've ever tried peruvian chicken, you'll want to immitate... Here's the recipe I've used and it is EPIC, especially the sauce (which I modify...

    Upgrading from ECB

I was reading online that people say charcoal will taste better than electric... But for cost and ease, it seems like electric may be better for my busy schedule... I guess it makes sense that the combustion from charcoal creates a different taste/texture-- I'll just have to try it out and...

They are out of stock online and don't have it at my local store. I was looking at that one too.

    Upgrading from ECB

I've had my ECB for less than 2 weeks and while it works fine after the mods, I want to migrate over to the more hassle-free electric style. Will I notice a difference between charcoal vs. electric as far as texture and taste? I'm looking for under $200 and found this on Amazon...

    Stock ECB

I just got finished with some mods! I picked up a better thermometer and drilled a 3/8 hole to put it a little below the stock gauge so that it reads the temps closer to the grill surface. I put the legs on the outside. I picked up 3 1/2 x 12" screws to make the stand for the charcoal pan. I...

So here is my first attempt ever and I must say, I'll only grill when I don't have time! I used Hickory chips in the stock ECB. I just got finished doing some mods and can't wait for this Sunday. I plan on doing the 3-2-1 ribs with Apple Chips!!!! So excited!

Hello! I love cooking and grilling but just got into the whole smoke scene... I love smoked fish so I started to look at various smokers, etc... I was at the store the other day and saw the ECB, not knowing it is a little monster after some mods, and picked one up, cheap. Yesterday, I read...

    Stock ECB

Hello All, I'm new here. Just got into the hobby of smoking foods. I just seasoned my brand-new ECB I picked up for $37. After some research, it makes sense to do some or all of the mods on this forum; however, will I still be able to smoke ribs or fish while I get some parts to do these...
