    Rough Draft of the Logo..

No problem - I'd offer to send some haggis but your Government have banned imports of it for a few years now , you'll have to make your own

    baron of beef roast

Ah - that's why I didn't recognise the descriptions above - they call both languages english - but there's a lot of differences. If I got a baron (as we know them here) I'd roast 1/2 and cut the other 1/2 into sirloins.

    Rough Draft of the Logo..

I've managed to miss this thread before, hope you don't mind a couple of comments from Scotland, but let me say that I like it first off - some of the following is nitpicking:Dutch is right about the Glengarry or the Balmoral - apart from the Island Clans who were more Viking than Scot, that...

Florida Keys - what to bring back?

Another BBQ'er from over this side of the pond is heading over to the Keys on holiday & has asked what BBQ treats (ingredients/equipment etc) he should fill his case with to bring back, I know there's a lot of Floridians on this forum, so folks, what would you recommend? Thanks, Rod

    Increase range of wireless thermos

Screw 1 is on the top left in the picture in step 3 (tip anything in a yellow box has a comment attached). The guy that said that the screw was connected said he got it from the cct diagram but didn't try it - it would be an easy experiment before trying the full mod I suppose. I looked at the...

    The beginnings of greatness

Wow - that's a hell of a nice build. Did you put a plate in to divert the smoke/heat to either end? Kinda a double reverse flow?

    Newbie Question

The thermometer I got came with one of these: Presumably for holding the probe upright in a pot, it clips on the grate and holds the probe horizontally just fine though.

    molasses

treegje, molasses is imported by a lot of companies for use in animal feed in europe, it might be worth looking out large animal feed suppliers. You might even be able to get a barrel of it and make an Ugly Drum Smoker from it! Also if you google molasses there are a few mail order food...

First run on the new drum!

Couldn't you have extended the stack instead? Although I suppose that could leave the lid a bit unwieldy.....

    Happy Thanksgiving all

Hope you're all enjoying a fine time with your famillies & friends. I think we screwed up over here embracing your style of Halloween instead of Thanksgiving - a festival to be proud of. We'll be having Turkey at the weekend in tribute

    Prime Rib Dry Aged W/Qview

Have you thought of searing the beef before smoking? When I oven cook aged rib roast I have it in the oven as hot as possible for about 1/2 an hour - searing the outside, then cool the oven right down to about 225c (leaving the door open) and then roast low and slow. Adds an extra level of...

    Sausage grinding/stuffing table

What he said. I believe in Sod's Law - you put the safety mechanisms in place you won't need them - you don't & you will.

Cheers for that! I'll be keeping an eye out for a broken dishwasher for an ingenious buid.

Baby Backs In the Dishwasher Q-View

Interesting smoker! Any chance of putting a thread with some details of the build in the Smoking Supplies & Equipment board? Having trouble getting a drum together - but can get a broken dishwasher pretty easy....

Keeping wood for the long haul

From what I read in the thread, the gap below & stacking the loggs round some verticals also gives a chimney effect, seasoning the wood quicker.
