    Hey Ziggy, Ran a heat test on my smoker today and was able to keep temps at 130 with no problem. I am doing a batch of ribs on Sunday.I will atempt some sausage in a few weeks.  Want to do a turkey next though.

    No  never tried sausage. My other smoker was not insulated and had trouble getting below 200. I could in the winter but in the summer I could barely hold 225.  So with this smoker I am hoping to try some sausage and cold smoke some cheese

    Hey Big C.  My box is 24" wide ,14" deep and 33" tall.  I have run a few tests and it takes about 20 minutes to get it up to 225 and was able to hold it between 225 and 235 for several hours.  The hard part for me was trying to make the adjustments on the burner valve that came with the...

    Didn't get as much as I was hoping to get done today. Did get the rolling platform done and a latch for the bottom door.  Tomorrow I hope to sand and get at least one coat of primer on the old girl !!

    Nice job Josh.  Looks great.  I hope to build my platform with wheels tomorrow and start sanding and maybe get a coat of primer on this Sunday.  It's worth the work when you see the smoke rolling out of it.!!

    I did replace the insulation underneath the box .  When I got tearing things apart the bottom panel was rotten, so I replaced that panel and put new insulation in there and that is where all my heat hits.     Thanks Dave. I ordered the Maverick 732 and it came in today. I may just go with that for now. By the way thanks for the tip with the string , worked like a charm. Could have used an extra hand though!!
