First post and an offset smoker design question

There's a smoker builds category with several sub-forums with lots of good info. https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forums/smoker-builds.197/ Also an intro in the Roll Call forum isn't a bad idea either. https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forums/roll-call.133/

Has anyone tried a similar design?

What your explaining on what you want sounds exactly like a reverse flow smoker... Plenty of reverse flow cabinet builds here in the build section... Dig through here and see if you find something... https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forums/reverse-flow.201/

Need some advice from the pros on exhaust size.

Sorry, long trying to explain my confusion... Building an offset smoker from a propane tank, it is 24" deep and 44" long, firebox is 24" round and 19" long. I have used the Feldon calculator in the past with good results but the problem I am having is exhaust. The smoker has the firebox in the...

Need Design Inspiration. Egg-Style Rim Smoker

New to the forum, looking for inspiration! Last year I found this giant tractor rim in the woods, it's 33" inside diameter at the top and waist high when standing on end. The steel is almost 2" thick. Immediately I hauled it out started converting it into a giant grill. Easiest thing to start...

Need some advice from the pros on exhaust size.

If you need 21" of 5" pipe, then use 2- 21" long 3.5" pipes to give you the same volume as 1- 5" pipe.

    Newbie here, from South Louisiana.

Ok folks, lots of posts ask to put smoker builds on to show our own custom build. Here goes. I was able to find and refurbish oak pallet wood from a local farm supply store and the manager was nice enough to allow me to get all I wanted, neighbor had plenty of brick for me to lay out bottom and...

    Pellet Smokers

I will add, the "new" RT heat deflector is cast iron and is WAY better than the original SS version. Not only does it not warp, but the smoker seems to run a lot more steady. Not that I had big fluctuations, but now there are like none. By new I mean they changed it a couple few years ago...

    Ok more summer sausage Q’s…..

That plan works . I've waited 3 days after stuffing . I keep a therm in my fridge to make sure it's at a good temp . I use 36 degrees . Natural casings I keep covered so they don't dry out in the fridge . I hang at room temp for 60 to 90 minutes after coming from the fridge / before going into...

    Red's Next Build Project?

Happy Wednesday, SMF Friends! So I've been lazing around, doing next to nothing, since back in the spring when I finished the direct heat smoker box that @BigW. now owns. We are finally having some cooler autumn temps around here after the summer heat tried to hang on until snow flies! And...
