I am looking for a PID controller for a propane sausage smoker I am building. I would like the PID to have the following but can do without the convenience items like wifi if necessary.
* Controlled/monitored by wifi on phone app
* 110 v power supply to the pid
* Control either a 110 v or 12 v...
...both in excellent shape and perfect working order. The manual control on the smoker has been bypassed so that it is controlled by the Auber PID Smoker is also well seasoned.
Smoker has 1" insulated walls and is all stainless other than the wheels and it can be used all year long. I will put...
Built a DIY PID with an Inkbird ITC-106vh controller.
Wondering if anybody has used this on a Masterbuilt 40.
I run a AMNPS tray in a mailbox mod .
Looking for the PID settings that worked for you. TIA
Wiring help needed for newer MES 40. I have 4 wires total coming out of where the power cord is. Besides the white and black power wires, the other 2 are red and blue. Which wires should I connect to use my PID. Any help would be appreciated.
...and made their own. I build such things for a living, so that might happen. Maybe an Arduino and a K type thermocouple and then use a separate PID controller which is what they did (the PID controller part). I have several sitting around, but It's not really a fun project to me. If I do...
I'll also say that I did have some initial issues with the Auber PID settings, but the Auber customer service folks took care of me and got me dialed in.
So I smoked a batch of summer sausage today and noticed my Inkbird PID temp display going crazy. Say my temp was set at 150°. When it got close to target temp, it would quickly start jumping from 149 to 155 to 147 to 150 and so forth. Would do that for about 5 seconds then quit and settle on a...
Did you actually verify your PID pit temps with a digital thermometer? PID controller may need some calibrating, it may have been running hotter than anticipated.
They look good though, I would put a few of them away.😋
Anybody ever rewired a newer masterbuilt smoker to run an auber pid. I have a two black wires, a red, and a white. Trying to figure out what wires need to be wired together for the auber to take over.
Thanks
...the cabinet and out the rear vent without contacting the food.
If you really drop deep into the rabbit hole, and you like to tinker, look into PID controllers. I have done this and now have a very consistent and repeatable smoking setup.
When this smoker wears out, I might consider an...
