Long time reader (of sorts), first time as a member.
I'm from Iowa and bought myself a MES 30" on sale recently. My affinity for smoked meats comes and goes, but I wanted to put myself to the challenge of trying smoking on for size and figured it's something I'll enjoy from time to time no matter what. Most likely to smoke pork but the wife says... -
New to Smoking
In the exact same boat as you. Got my MES 30" last week on sale at Target.com. I put it together yesterday (very quick) then went ahead and did the pre-seasoning of the unit according to their book. I had two slabs of ribs I had hoped to do earlier in the weekend but the weather kept raining...
