A used Masterbuilt electric (MES) with the mailbox mod and an Amazen tray/tube. Do a simple rewire and add a PID controller and you'll end up with a sausage smoking machine.

But a pellet tube and use it in lieu of the chips. Amazen is one brand. Place it in bottom of smoker or use a mailbox mod. Lots of posts on this issue to search for other ideas.
