GMG parts are usually WAY cheaper through dealers, they ARE great about parts under warranty, but just hit up google and you can buy the same parts for much less. Personally, I really like that most of their parts are backwards compatible, rebuilt an older Davey Crockett with new Trek 2.0 parts...
Really pleased with the first cook on this grill. Temp control was rock solid, no problems with the app, and I'm loving all the space compared to my old Daniel Boone. Did notice that the fan was pretty loud at times, but nothing too terrible.
I'll probably be adding a Downdraft and sealing up...
Picked up a Peak Prime 2.0 today, looks really well made. Fit and finish seems to be a notch above my last GMG(not that the old one was bad), paint looks like the biggest improvement, jas a really good feel to it.
Only gripe I have is the front shelf, preferred the old design, but that's a...
Mine has been pretty good. I usually hit the clean out port with the shop vac before I start the grill and do a good tear down and clean every 5-6 cooks. Haven't really had any much for issues other than replacing the ignitor of the Daniel Boone Prime +.
I did rebuild the Davy Crockett(new...
This will be the 3rd one I've had, daughter has my DB Prime+ and I'll be making do with my Davy Crockett until I get the new grill. Been very happy with the first 2.
Decided to go ahead and get the Peak 2.0, need to wait a couple weeks until I have time to go pick one up(working out of state during the week and only home for short weekends, but the project should finish in a week or so).
I'll make sure to post some pics of the assembly when I get it.
Gotta say I'm pretty disappointed with Cowboy Brand wood pellets, size doesn't seem very consistent and they absolutely won't feed in my GMG Davy Crockett without jamming the auger. First time I've ever had that problem with any brand.
Really a shame as I am a big fan of their charcoal.
While I'm not married to GMG, I have had a Daniel Boone Prime Plus for a few years now and have been very happy with it. However, I just told my recently moved out on her own daughter that she could have it.
Would like to go just a little bigger with the new grill, I'm already familiar with...
Admittedly I don't use that much charcoal anymore since buying the Green Mountain pellet grill, but I really like how clean Kingsford Professional burns, it's my first choice for the Weber kettle, regular Kingsford in a pinch is easier to find.
I see GMG has redesigned their grill recently, has anybody here tried one of the new one yet? I currently have a Daniel Boone Prime Plus and it's had a couple minor problems, but overall been a great unit. Like the upgrades they have made on the new ones as far as design, thinking of getting...
I like the shape of the cook chamber on my GMG Daniel Boone(now the Ledge model). Dids a 17 pound turkey with plenty of room to spare on Thanksgiving. I looked at a couple "combo" grills and ultimately decided that I'd be better served by seperate grills, the difference in floor space they...
