Hi, this is just a bit off topic but this seems to be the most active forum for the Visions Grill. I have one of the Classic B series that i have had for 4 or 5 years and love it. But, i am hoping one of you can help. When i have it set up for smoking with the heat diffuser / lava stone in...
If the ones from visions fit, they are generic stainless or black iron with no logo, but with a small grinder or file and a can of high temp black spray paint, i think that you could probably even "genericifi" one from BGE
PortlandRoger,
almost all of the Kamado manufacturers have customer service departments and have parts available online. Measure the outside diameter of the ceramic chimney and start calling (or emailing) around. I know that Visions Grills and BGE both sell after market metal tops, you just...
I agree, the Visions is a great piece of equipment. i have had some problems with burning the gasket at high temps and have had to replace it. i just could not get the top and bottom aligned right and the gasket would leak, creating a hot spot that would burn....
I tried a bunch of things but...

I realize that it has been quite some time since this thread was active, but i do have a followup question. Does anyone see a problem with making the tuning plates and the deflector out of quarry tile; the same tile that many people use for their pizza stones?
Thrifty Token,
That is a great list, i have printed it out and it now lives in my permanent smoking binder. Here in the west most of the fire wood is pine or other conifers. Fruit wood is a bit more rare so we hold onto what we find.
thanks again.

this is an interesting conversation, is there anything about using Italian Plum wood that i should worry about? I had a large limb break off recently and am saving it for the smokerr
hi all, i have been lurking in the background watching the forum for a while. i recently inherited a NB black diamond, and have been trying it out. I have never used a smoker before, so am working out some kinks.
at this point, the biggest problem that i am having is getting enough heat. i...
