I am able to get it to hot smoke as long as I leave the fire chamber door open to draw in lots of air. I put a metal stove pipe section into the clay flue as well. The metal helps move the heat through better I believe. I have gotten my temps up to 300 degrees at the lower cooking racks , and...
A couple of picks today, I made a new chimney box and used an old license plate for a cover, then fit the old Char broil gas smoker into the overhang just to keep it out of the weather.
