You've picked two of the best. Salt Lick is in Driftwood and just an amazing atmosphere surrounded by the huge oak trees. Perfect Hill Country setting!! Their food is cooked on an open pit though as opposed to a smoker but man is it good stuff!! Louie Mueller's is iconic Texas BBQ. That place...
Wow John...I don't know what to say except THANK YOU for the kind words. I did manage to get the perfect sear on them I was hoping to get. That really added to the flavor.
Thanks so much Travis. Now I just need to get Tracy on board and life will be improved.

It sounds like it'd be excellent but as stated, I kinda had to improvise. Rest assured though my friend, I'll get some mint jelly for the next round....assuming I remember to grab it at the store :emoji_wink:
Appreciate the kind words Ryan. You maybe need to get away from those pigs for an...
Thanks Richie. I just know Tracy would love these also if I could just get her to try them. I'd love to be able to add lamb to our regular menu rotation.
Very much appreciative the kind words and the like sir. I was thrilled with the flavor profile, especially never having cooked lamb before...
I know, I know. Problem was that I didn't have any and this came up at the last minute. I didn't feel like going to the store so made do with what I had. Next time though.... :emoji_wink:
Thanks so much Jeff. With all the amazing stuff you turn out, that's a high compliment.
You can rest...
Louie Mueller's in Taylor, just northeast of Austin is far and again the best. No doubt when you walk in you're heading into a true Texas BBQ joint. The food is outstanding and beats any that I've ever had commercially.
Mom & pop places? The best of the bunch by far is Casa Bianca, just a few...
I was blessed to receive an amazing package of exotic and interesting goodies from our good friend Jake ( @TNJAKE ) in out Christmas exchange. One of the items I received was a package of 6 lamb t-bones. Tracy not being a fan of lamb would not have appreciated them so I waited till she was gonna...
WOW!! That looks amazing. Very nice meal all around and kudos for taking care of the MIL. Sadly mine passed about 5 years ago. She too was a great lady and is missed by the whole family. This brings back some very fond memories of family meals we shared. Thank you for posting. A nice way to...
Yes sir!! I love a good Cuban sandwich. Developed an affinity for them quite a while back when I used to hang out at the neighborhood Hooters...for the wings of course :emoji_wink: They make a decent rendition of a Cuban sandwich but yours blows theirs completely out of the water. Excellent job...
Wow Jeff, simply stunning. As has already been stated, that is without doubt the best looking pastrami I've ever seen. You could put a certain well known deli out of business with that :emoji_wink: Excellent job my friend, and congrats on advancing to the second round in the Fave Chef...
I agree 100%. Not only is it nice, it is from the heart being that Bear Jr. made it for him. I'm betting that Bear never uses it for cutting though, just serving as he did here. If it were mine, I'd hang it on the wall and show it off as the work of art that it is.

Diversification Bear, that's what it's all about buddy :emoji_wink: Or as they say "variety is the spice of life" and you certainly made a variety of meals with the pork. Nice job sir!!

Wow Ray, absolutely fantastic looking meal right there. Glad you're finding uses for the tenderloins. Thankfully I'm down to just a few that I need to burn through. I did use a couple for cheese steaks last week as you did and when they are gone there will be no more...except for maybe making...
