I finished my First R F build Step By Step W/Qview

Smoker looks awesome! I love the air inlets. How are they working for you so far?

First RF build. 6x3 main cooking chamber with a 38x30 planned rotisserie.

Thanks, I've had my heart set on the R/F anyway so I'll stay the course on the layout. Now i just need to figure out if i want to invest in plate or a bigger compressor tank. I guess 1/4" is standard on the plate? My other concern is with the thickness of the main cooking chamber. Would it be...

First RF build. 6x3 main cooking chamber with a 38x30 planned rotisserie.

That's been my concern. According to calculations it's about 48% undersized. Does the same calculation hold true if the firebox is mounted parallel with the cooking chamber? I'm still new to this so i'll take all the suggestions i can get. I'm just looking forward to having fun building this beast!

I finished my First R F build Step By Step W/Qview

Build looks great! Is your hot box double walled? I'm gonna be starting a RF out of a 6x3 foot tank. I'm interested in the preheating burner and am wondering about placement. I'm guessing it should go under the tuning plate? First major trailer mounted build so any advice from your build would...

Too big? Is this possible for a smoker?

I have a virgin 6x3 foot tank and a estimated 350 gallon propane tank on it's way. Building this rig to cater some fundraisers that will be between 1500 and 5000 people. Is it possible to over do it when it comes to size? How do i estimate size of hot box to support these big tanks? Any help...

Pros and cons-warnings on using a propane tank for a smoker?

Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of using a big propane tank as a smoker? Wasn't sure on the cutting and cleaning of it to make it suitable for food. Any concerns or warnings would be greatly appreciated.

Glass doors for wood fire smoker.

I figure as long as i can keep from breaking them i should be good, just as long as i keep the droolers at a safe distance.

Glass doors for wood fire smoker.

@eman - Do you think it would be enough of a loss to make  it not worth it? Just thought it would be cool to be able to look in. Help keep people at bay.

Glass doors for wood fire smoker.

The glass will be getting cut to my specs and sent out to be high heat tempered. I have a buddy with a fire place wood stove company so he's donating the glass and gasketing materials. We're building this for charity events so we want it to stand out.

Glass doors for wood fire smoker.

Well besides them getting dirty are there any negatives to using glass doors on a wood fired smoker. 6'x3' tank i want to box out the face and put flat doors and thought it would be cool to weld up some frames and use some high heat tempered glass. Any thoughts other than the obvious getting...
