I don't remember which link gave me the insight for the washer trick, I probaby read yours . I have spent alot of time on the Virtual Weber Bulletin Board recently. My cooker came with the gromet, but I did do the same thing....3 stainless steel washers behind each bracket. It definitely helped...
I just recently got a 18.5....one thing I found was the top grate didn't sit securely on the L brackets. If you bumped it, the grate could have fallen down into the cooker...food and all. It is a known issue with some of the WSM known as Out Of Round. Did some reaserch and found a great site...
Agreed Maverick ET-732 or 733. My advice is if you do get one of these units, clean the probes with alcohol swabs, DO NOT rinse under water or use a sponge to clean. The part where the probe meets the wire, is very sensitive. Other than that I love my Mav ET 732...going on 2 years with it. I...
Brian85... Thank you for the reply...I have some questions for you...afrer reading your reply...I'm trying to figure out if you regret purchasing the unit or not. To be honest, your the first person who I have that has issues with the unit.
If you could do it again, would you not purchase it...
Well I pulled the trigger on getting the complete unit for my KJBJ and bought the adapter for my WSM 18.5. I confirmed with BBQ Guru that the fan is the same for both cookers and yes I just needed to get the adapter for the WSM. I hear nothing but positive things about this unit and excited to...
Hello all,
I have a KJBJ and just recently found a WSM for a ridiculous price brand new in box....so I have a new toy waiting to be used. My question is if I buy the complete package for say the KJBJ...can I just buy the interface for my WSM? Im hoping to be able to utilize the main unit with...
Hello all... Was going to wait till Spring to get a 18.5....a buddy told me to look around because a certain store clears inventory this time of year. Sure enough scored an amazing deal on a in box 18.5. Look forward to getting her set up and running!
Rob
Thank you very much my friends! I already have a KJBJ and a Masterforge propane smoker, my next toy will be a WSM 18.5'...think I will wait till Spring/March.

Thank you so much for the pic. Its just my wife and I...hardly ever cook more than 2 racks at a time. I dont mind if I do foil its a tight fit...my preference is to cook them flat. If I get this unit... It will be my 3rd cooking toy...and really appreciate the pic to put my mind at ease!

Hello All,
Will two racks of baby back ribs fit/lay flat on the top grate of the 18.5? My preference is not to use a rib rack, but not a deal breaker to get this unit.
Thanks
Rob
Thank you very much to everyone who replied back. I'm torn....I'd rather not have to cut the rack of ribs to cook....but its just the wife and I. As it is now...when I do ribs on my Masterforge, I only cook 2 racks of baby backs...and I hàve leftovers for a couple of days. So I'm having trouble...
I appreciate all the feedback. I'm going to wait till the Spring to get to actually see the 18.5 and 22.5 in person. I say the 18.5...but somehow I see myself with the 22.5...I just know the way I am. Thanks
