After a lot more body work to get things to be acceptable, putting down primer and paint on the main body today. There are still plenty of dents and dings over the body from its ~85 year life, planned on leaving those. Didn’t want my work to show, however. Primer down- strikerfired

Getting there. Been doing a few layers of High-Temp lab metal to seal some areas and work out some of the more obvious bends/dents/dings. Some more work this weekend. Got the cover panel on the door, aside form welding the edges in, also spot welded it to the supports internal. Painted the outside of the door, primer, 3 coats of color using thin coats to prevent drips, then 2 coats of clear. Well, it was nice to get working on the project again. Got the hinges installed in the door, and did a lot of tac welds today that’ll get ground flush to keep things looking decent. Then time for some body filler, primer and then paint. Looking at my check list there isn’t a ton of stuff left...- strikerfired

Thinking of building a large cabinet smoker
ended up going a different direction..... project is currently on hold waiting for a buddy (machinist) to make new hinges.
