    Maverick Probe Wire Placement?

Update - got my 6 foot probes.... much more versatile than the 3 foots that came with the ET-733. I took my wires out of the hole in the cover.. they were just in the way too much. So for now.. out under the cover.. and hanging on the handle on the hopper... I like this set up better.. but...

    Greeting from New Hampshire

Right on Hambone.. except I'm about as much an astronomer as I am a pro smoker.. but enjoying both hobbies tremendously. The moon shot was actually taken with my cell phone looking in my Orion dobsonian telescope.

    Pellet Storage/Changing pellet flavors?

I like your shelving and the buckethead sounds like a good idea - curious if it breaks down the pellets much?. I use Kingsford caddy from Lowes.. I put a UPS shipping sleeve on the outside so that I can put the pellet type on an index card and change it easily. These containers hold 40 lbs of...

maverick 733 quetions im unable to find direct answers

I bought my 733 from firecraft a couple weeks ago. Great service..and got it right away. Just went back to them for some pellets and 6ft probes. I found that the 3 ft probes were just too short. Their free shipping over 99.00 is why I got my pellets from them. It took me a few minutes to get...

Pellet Flavors - Whats in your bag?

I started with hickory and cookinpellets perfect blend. Like them both. Just placed an order for mesquite and pecan.  It will take some time before I'll know which one gets used most. I can still count the number of cooks I've had on one hand...

Pellet Flavors - Whats in your bag?

I see lots of info on pellet brands, but not too much on what flavor/type pellets are used &  best liked. I see Hickory - Mesquite - Pecan - Cherry - Oak - Apple - Maple as some common types. Thought this would be a good thread to state what pellets you keep in your personal stock and which...

    Maverick Probe Wire Placement?

Well.. for now.. my solution is to use the hole in the lid that is supposed to hold the dome thermometer. I used a small flexible magnet to cover the bulk of  hole where the leads pass thu. I tried hanging the transmitter off the stack.. but dirtsailor was right.. way to much heat there.  So I...

    Maverick Probe Wire Placement?

Yes.. good point.. but with only a 3ft wire, there's a lot of heat everywhere. Maybe buying a 6 foot wire is in order. That's why I started this thread... seems a remote probe is an essential tool.. but what to do with the transmitter? Not thrilled with the concept of running the wires under...
