    Using my Weber/Gasser to smoke???

Just took a better look at the grill... the bottom is totally open. It opens right up to the drip pan. I'm thinking I may be able to pack (foil?)  around the slide out pan to seal it up. Or maybe even come up with some kind of a fire box to sit below the grill. Then pack the other couple of...

    Using my Weber/Gasser to smoke???

Thanks for the reply and the move. Yes, they run side to side... I was thinking about using a cake pan and setting it on the defuser plates. Just got to figure out how to close off the holes around the burner plumbing now.

Pretty sure it was just painted on the inside... may have been a powder coat of some kind. After the first good burn there wasn't anymore odor. I think I got it all burned off, I just know that when you burn paint it leaves stuff behind. Didn't know if I had to sand that out or just a good power...

    Afterburn cleaning

My drum originally had Ethanal (sp?). It was painted on the inside and out. Doesn't have the paint odor anymore during the burns so, I think it all got burnt out. I just need to clean the inside out now. DO you usually sand them to finish removal or should I be good with just a good power...
