Hey all, I've recently aquired a pellet stove from a friend who sold his house. I have been kicking around the idea of using it as the smoke generator for a smke house, with mabe a stand up fridge or freezer, or possibly even a small shed as the house. Anybody have any thoughts or ideas?
unfourtunately 1500w in an enclosure as big as a proofbox is not realy alot. I've worked in a bakery and they only get to about 80* or 90*, great for a cold smoker(maybe even a little for cheese). Although the unit is air-tight, great for smoking you maybe n3eed ti find a different heating element.
I have never personaly owned a trager unit , although heard rave reviews about them. Don't worry about being new to smoking, as long as you enjoy to cook and try new things, despite what you may hear or read it's difficult to screw up personal satisfaction. GOOD LUCK.

I recently built a cold smoker using a cooling fan from a computer. Since it was 12v dc. and I did not want to hassle with batteries, I rigged it using the power supply from a cordless phone (power supply was 9v output, but don't think running a couple r.p.m. slower made any difference...
