    My 560 basically burned through the cook chamber and the controller failed. Just not built very well. This new model looks better but I will not spend $1,500 on a Masterbuilt product.

    100% Hickory. The blends don't produce enough smoke flavor for my tastes.

    Masterbuilt’s controllers are their Achilles heel. Every MB product I’ve owned has had a controller failure.

    Check out the Camp Chef Woodwind Pro. It has a smokebox that you can add wood and/or charcoal to.

    Thanks for the pics. Any idea if the area where the charcoal would be burning is insulated? I guess that would be the bottom of the hopper? On my Masterbuilt the steel burned away and exposed hard firebrick type material. Supposedly it was normal.

    I think you made the right choice. $1,500 is kind of crazy for a Masterbuilt product. Not sure a porcelain cook chamber or 3 year warranty is worth that kind of cash. I'm sure the warranty does't cover the cook chamber rotting out. If it's actually thicker metal than my 560 then maybe. Your...

    They showed 3 new grills today. Two more tomorrow. Nothing ground breaking but they look a little more modern. We'll see about the other two tomorrow.
